Sewing Training Centers
Stitch Mission is dedicated to providing vocational skills to empower communities around the world. Our organization has partnered with ministries that share the same vision, goals, and values in supporting sewing training and education to give hope for a future. Please consider supporting us so that we may provide sewing machines, textiles, teacher stipends, and supplies.
We have partnered with ministries in India who are actively supporting their communities through a variety of outreach programs including teaching Bible classes, distributing food boxes, arranging adoption and care for orphans, and assisting widows with obtaining vocational skills. In order to support these programs we are currently seeking financial support to provide sewing machines, textiles, stipends for teachers, and materials.
Who is Love One Another Ministries (LOAM)?
Stitch Mission partners with Love One Another Ministries (LOAM) located in Odisha, India to build sewing training centers in 5 villages located in the Odisha state of India. LOAM is a registered organization in India that was formed to serve over 75 orphans as well as provide programs to empower adults through literacy, computer, and tailoring classes. As this region experienced a great deal of Christian persecution, we stand with them to support their efforts to spread the gospel through Pastor training and church planting. This area of the country is still recovering from weeks of violence that occurred in 2008. Over 5,000 households were looted and burned down, 250 churches destroyed, and 75 were killed.
Our organizations share the vision to empower women while promoting community development, vocational skills, and economic sustainability in this region. The sewing training centers will support those affected by this devastating persecution, especially widows and women who are striving to support their children. Our vision is to train 100 women, with groups of 15 undergoing an 8 month professional sewing and tailoring vocational program.
